Maximillian Pegasus

Pegasus is the owner of the company that majors in illusions. He has trapped Yugi�s grandfather�s soul with his Millennium eye and has promised that he will give it back after Yugi wins in a duel against him, thus why Yugi enters the tournament. In season two we see a portrait of a woman that must be really important to Pegsaus. My guess is that she was his wife and she had died. This would explain why Pegasus wants to be able to control death by using all the millenium items. Once again, although it is plausible, this is only my theory and cannot be taken as a fact.
